چکیده
Applications of wireless communications networks are emerging continuously. To offer a good level of security in these applications, new standards for wireless communications propose solutions based on cryptographic algorithms working on special modes of operation. This work presents a custom hardware architecture for the AES-CCM Protocol (AES-CCMP) which is the basis for the security architecture of the IEEE 802.11i standard. AES-CCMP is based on the AES-CCM algorithm that performs the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) in CTR with CBC-MAC mode (CCM mode), plus specialized data formatting modules, providing different security services through iterative and complex operations. FPGA Implementation AES for CCM Mode Encryption Using Xilinx Spartan-II
This paper discusses a possible FPGA implementation of the AES algorithm specifically for the use in CCM Mode Encryption. CCM Mode encryption is a proposed standard to be used and the security backbone behind the new IEEE Std. 802.11i. CCM currently spends most the computation power performing the AES algorithm. This paper investigate the possibility of creating an off-chip AES system for CCM s...

متن کاملTowards a Reconfigurable Platform to Implement Security Architectures of Wireless Communications Standards Based on the AES-CCM Algorithm
Over decades the design of communication devices has been mainly focused on hardware, where upgrading a design meant to completely abandon it and start a new design. For modern communication networks, the ideal device is the one capable of operating in different networks employing basically the same hardware resources. Recently, software radios offer the capability of being multiband, multimode...
